While the Kansas City Chiefs stars are known for their skills on the football field, the chance to join them on a new venture that requires no athletic skills has presented itself, thanks to their new steakhouse, 1587 Prime, which is opening in partnership with Noble 33. With the Kansas City-based restaurant slated to open in the summer, fans can be excited to know that the steakhouse is looking for an operation manager and a bar manager. According to the job description, the operations manager is "responsible for driving the company’s vision during the daily operations of the restaurant." Earning a salary of $55,000 to $90,000 a year, the chosen candidate will "ensure that employees are equipped to execute to our brand standards" and have "direct oversight for a designated group of employees and will be responsible for all hiring, training, scheduling, and performance." The operations manager will also work with the general manager and executive chef in "setting the direction of the business in day-to-day operations as well as a plan to grow the business, drive sales and manage costs." Requirements include a college degree in business, hospitality, or a related field, but can be substituted with an "equivalent mix of education and experience." The chosen candidate must also have three to five years in a management position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel. According to the bar manager job posting, the role will require someone that is "responsible for managing bar inventory, supply & standards as well as the bar team." With a salary of $70,000 to $80,000 a year, the chosen candidate will also be responsible for helping with "day-to-day beverage functions & operations including marketing initiatives, staff scheduling, training and execution, cost control and driving top line revenue as continual focus." Requirements included three to five years in a management or supervisory role, preferably in a full-service restaurant as well as previous work in the hospitality industry and "strong knowledge in cocktails, spirits and wine." Those who choose to apply must be ready to work in a restaurant that will occupy 10,000 square feet and span two floors in Kansas City's Loews Hotel on Wyandotte Street.
