Name revealed for potential new restaurant in former Zesto Forest Acres space

FOREST ACRES — More information on the future of the Forest Acres Zesto has been revealed.
A handwritten sign posted to the former restaurant’s door on April 9 advertised a “Mo’s Dairy Bar” is “coming soon.”
Earlier this month, city officials had announced an interested buyer was looking to reopen the fast food eatery, which closed in December 2024, according to reporting by The Post and Courier.
Officials confirmed the city received permits filed on behalf of the new business, but did not identify the interested buyer on April 9. No contact information was posted at the restaurant.
No information related to a Mo’s Dairy Bar was readily accessible online, and county tax records had not been updated to reflect any sale of the property.
Forest Acres officials said the new restaurant planned on offering a similar menu to the burgers, fried chicken, hot dogs, fries and soft serve ice cream served at the former Zesto from 1949 to 2024.
“The city has spoken with a new business looking to revitalize the former Zesto’s,” Shaun Greenwood, Forest Acres city administrator, previously said in a statement. “We are hopeful this does develop. A local spot with the nostalgic feel of Zesto’s is certainly missed in Forest Acres.”
The Zesto at 3239 Forest Drive closed after the owner retired. The closure was met with an outpouring of admiration for the restaurant on social media from longtime fans and residents.
